The Sunseed Berry is the treasure that teaches players how treasure-hunting actually feels. It's right there, in the open, visible and approachable. It doesn't need a cave or a boss or a special Pikmin type. It's a strawberry. Olimar's journal entry gives it a poetry that the object doesn't quite earn but somehow deserves. The Hocotate Ship evaluates it for x170. Louie would eat it immediately if unsupervised. In Pikmin 3 it becomes a fruit with juice properties. It ages well.
A single strawberry at a scale that requires 10 Pikmin to carry. Bright red, heart-shaped, with visible seeds. Sits exposed in the Awakening Wood field, clearly visible from the landing site. Olimar can see it as soon as he arrives.
