Courage Reactor

Item from Pikmin 2 by Nintendo / Shigeru Miyamoto

The very first treasure of the expedition — a D-sized Duracell battery lying in the snow of the Valley of Repose, requiring 20 Pikmin to carry.

The Courage Reactor is the expedition's first concrete proof of concept: human trash, found and catalogued as treasure, evaluated by the Ship, worth x280 Pokos toward a x10,000 debt. The scale is immediately apparent. Olimar's journal entry on it has an almost surprised warmth: he notes that it emits an imperceptible hum, and he feels more courageous just holding it. The debt counter is 280 Pokos smaller. The courage is probably coincidental.

Appearance

A massive (by Hocotatian scale) cylindrical battery in red and copper — the Duracell D cell, expiry date 2010 printed on the side. It requires 20 Pikmin to carry back to the ship. The Nintendo Switch version retextured it to a generic 'Electric Super Battery Power' brand.
