Character from Pikmin 2 by Nintendo / Shigeru Miyamoto
An indestructible transparent humanoid that stalks every floor of the Submerged Castle — rolling over everything in its path, vulnerable to nothing, until the very last floor.
The Waterwraith is timed terror. After approximately five minutes on any sublevel of the Submerged Castle, it falls from the ceiling. The music that plays only then — a slow, wrong arrangement of something that sounds almost familiar — is enough to communicate what it means. It cannot be hurt. It will not stop. It follows the active captain. The only strategy is to get the treasures and leave before it arrives, or hide in corners too small for its rollers. On the final sublevel, after suffering enough Purple Pikmin impacts, it turns purple, loses its rollers, and runs. It screams. It can now be defeated. Olimar's notes call its scientific name, Amphibio sapiens, which mirrors Homo sapiens. This is probably intentional.
Broadly humanoid in shape — a head, torso, arms, legs — but without any distinct features. Its body is watery and transparent. It rides two enormous stone rollers that it uses to crush anything in its path. The Ship's sensors detect nothing. It appears to be anchored, partially, in another dimension.
