What They Know

• Absorbs pellets and enemy corpses, converting them into Pikmin seeds — color-matching (red pellet to Red Onion) produces more seeds than mismatched feeding
• Lifts off at sunset using bioethanol-fueled flames from its leg joints — hovers in low orbit overnight, keeping stored Pikmin safe from nocturnal predators
• If all Pikmin of its type are lost, the Onion spontaneously produces one seed to prevent extinction — an apparent biological self-preservation mechanism
• Three Onions exist in Pikmin 1: Red (Impact Site, Day 1), Yellow (Forest of Hope), Blue (Forest Navel) — each discovered dormant and activated by Olimar's proximity
• Can store unlimited Pikmin internally — withdrawals prioritize flower-stage Pikmin first, then bud, then leaf
