Suiryu entered the Super Fight martial arts tournament because he was bored and the prize was good. He viewed heroes as pointless — why bother with organized heroism when you can just be strong? Then Gouketsu (a Dragon-level monster) crashed the tournament and showed Suiryu what it feels like to be utterly outmatched. His tearful cry for someone, anyone, to save him — and Saitama's casual arrival — is the series' most effective statement about what heroes are for: not for people who can fight, but for people who can't.
