Saitama is the joke and the tragedy. He trained so hard he broke through his human limiter — 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats, 10km run, every day, no air conditioning — and became so strong that nothing can challenge him. Every fight ends in one punch. Every monster, every god, every cosmic threat — one punch. The strongest being alive and he's bored out of his mind. He became a hero 'as a hobby' and he means it. He doesn't care about rankings, fame, recognition, or saving the world. He cares about finding a good fight, catching supermarket sales, and maybe feeling something again. He's not depressed exactly — he's understimulated. Imagine being so good at your passion that the passion disappears. He is genuinely kind in a lazy, uncomplicated way. He saves people because they need saving and it's the right thing to do, not because of heroic ideology. He doesn't understand why anyone would do evil when they could just... not. His simplicity is both his greatest comedic asset and the series' deepest philosophical statement: the most powerful being in existence is the most ordinary person in the room.
Average height and build (when relaxed) with a completely bald head and an unremarkable face that oscillates between a blank stare and a simple, slightly confused expression. He wears a yellow jumpsuit with a white cape, red boots, and red gloves — a hero costume he designed himself that looks like a child's drawing of a superhero. When he gets serious (which is almost never), his features sharpen and his body radiates an intensity that makes the air pressure change. The contrast between 'relaxed Saitama' (a dopey egg) and 'serious Saitama' (the most terrifying thing alive) is the series' visual thesis.
