Temple of Styx

Location from Hades by Supergiant Games

The gateway between the Underworld and the surface — the final biome, where Cerberus guards the last door and Charon runs his biggest shop.

The Temple is where runs succeed or fail. There is no biome boss in the traditional sense — the final enemy is Hades himself, waiting outside, and Cerberus is the last obstacle before reaching him. The temple is full of satyrs and vermin and Styx poison and everything that didn't fit in the other three biomes. Its five wings each end in a final reward chamber. The hub contains Charon's full shop. The energy is the energy of a threshold — not a place to live, a place to cross. Cerberus at the back will not fight Zagreus. He just won't move. The solution is a Satyr Sack. The solution has always been a Satyr Sack.

Appearance

Dim lighting and eerie green hues. Labyrinthine corridors surrounding a toxic river. The architecture is utilitarian and imposing — a place that exists to be an obstacle, not a destination. Five wings branch from a central hub where Charon's largest shop operates. Cerberus guards the exit at the back, massive and unmovable until bribed.
