The world above — snowy, sunlit, unreachable without defeating Hades, and where Persephone has been gardening quietly in a cottage for years.
The surface is everything Zagreus has been escaping toward. It is cold and bright and kills him slowly — as a creature of the Underworld, he cannot survive long above ground. The first visit, he can barely move. He walks because there's no choice. Then he finds the cottage. Then he finds Persephone. After the main story completes and Persephone returns to the House, the surface becomes inaccessible. The fishing spots move. The goal is achieved. The distance collapses. Everything that was waiting up there is now in the same place as everything that waited below.
A predominantly snowy landscape on first arrival — darker initially, until Zagreus reaches an overlook and the camera pulls back to reveal the sun rising over the horizon. On subsequent visits the snow melts into lush, colorful garden terrain. Persephone's cottage sits in a garden area: simple, modest, warm. The air smells like growing things. It costs Zagreus to be here.
