Hero-king of Athens and champion of Elysium — insufferably proud, genuinely dangerous, and convinced that Zagreus's escape attempts are a personal affront to divine order.
Theseus killed the Minotaur. He never stops talking about this. He considers it proof of his exceptional worth, his right to champion Elysium, and his authority to lecture Zagreus about the proper relationship between heroes and divine order. He is pompous. He is childish. He is genuinely dangerous, especially when he calls on the gods for assistance mid-fight, which he does with the comfortable familiarity of someone who believes the universe is rooting for him. He is the opposite of Achilles in every way that matters. No humility, no self-knowledge, no interest in what his victories cost others. The most interesting thing about Theseus is Asterius — and the fact that the man he once killed is now his closest companion, fighting beside him without resentment, says something about how much the Underworld changes people.
A muscular man with an overdone tan, blond hair styled back, and a permanently confident expression. He and Asterius wear matching outfits — short chiton with a large belt, Theseus with his left shoulder uncovered. In battle he transforms into an ornate golden mask and ammunition-adorned armor. His height is similar to Zagreus's.
