Character from Hades by Supergiant Games
Death incarnate — precise, principled, and secretly breaking his vow to the House of Hades every time he shows up to help Zagreus.
Thanatos has a perfect record. Every soul he's been assigned to collect has been collected. Every duty has been fulfilled. He represents death as the gentle, inevitable close of a life — not punishment, not violence, just completion. The fact that he keeps appearing in Zagreus's escape attempts to challenge him to kill-counts says everything. He's here because he wants to be, in defiance of his vow to the House. He prioritizes work above everything — except, apparently, Zagreus. He is cool and contained in a way that reads as cold until you realize how much of himself he puts into showing up at all. He dislikes the mortal realm (too bright). He resents being away from the Underworld. He's back the moment he can be, without quite being able to say why. His relationship with Zagreus is the most honest thing about him.
A slim figure with grayish-brown skin, short silver hair falling in strands around his face, and striking golden eyes ringed with dark circles. His dark leather armor is adorned with golden wings on a single shoulder. He wears a hood that frames his face and a black cloak, and typically carries a large, dark scythe. His expression defaults to apathetic, but his eyes give him away.
