Megaera does her job. She punishes oath-breakers, adulterers, and thieves with the exacting pleasure of someone who has studied exactly how much torment is appropriate for each crime. She is confident, precise, and genuinely pissed off that Zagreus keeps making her work feel pointless. But she doesn't actually want to stop him. That's the problem. She's known him long enough to have had something with him, and ended it, and still finds herself fighting him at the bottom of Tartarus with a whip because duty requires it and because she can't find a reason not to. After her first defeat, she sits in the House lounge and drinks. She maintains composure in conversations that are doing more work than they appear to. She disapproves of the chaos. She grudgingly respects the persistence. She would not admit either of these things.
