Athena does not share personal details. She does not tell Zagreus about her life or her interests or her feelings. She focuses on the problem and the plan, which is helping Zagreus escape, and she is the one who brokered the Olympian involvement. This is the one doing it because it is the right thing to do. Not because of family politics or entertainment or sympathy. Because Zagreus is her cousin and his imprisonment is unjust. The others have their reasons; Athena just has the correct conclusion. She respects Zagreus genuinely. She speaks to him as a peer in capacity if not in experience, which he finds worth something. When the truth about Persephone comes out, she is shocked but she understands — and she forgives the deception because she can see why it was necessary.
