The Minotaur — a bull-headed warrior of genuine chivalry imprisoned in a labyrinth and slain by the hero he now fights beside, apparently holding no grudge about any of it.
The Minotaur was feared across Greece. He was locked in a labyrinth against his will and slaughtered by Theseus, who then told stories about it for the rest of his life. Asterius, the actual person inside the monster, is calm, modest, rational, and genuinely warm when Zagreus makes him laugh. He is the emotional intelligence of the Theseus-and-Asterius partnership — the one who knows when to pull back, when to call off a fight, when Theseus is about to say something embarrassing. He fights Zagreus because that's the job, but he doesn't take losses personally. He compliments Zagreus on a good fight and means it. The mythology said he was a monster. He was always a person. The Underworld is where he gets to be one.
A large, brown humanoid bull with a crest of hair adorned with blue laurel wreaths around massive magenta-tipped horns. Wears a short chiton with a large belt matching Theseus's. Wields a huge battle axe. In the final fight, switches to pure gold armor. Much taller and broader than Theseus.
