Alecto is not complicated. She loves causing pain and she is very good at it. She also loves receiving pain, which is the more interesting part. She has always wanted to play with a god — someone who could genuinely hurt her back — and Zagreus, with his mortal red blood and his tendency not to die permanently, is the closest she's found. She calls him "Red Blood" every time. She means it as a term of appreciation. She and Tisiphone are barred from the House of Hades — neither has earned the right, and both apparently have no interest in earning it. They fight from outside the formal hierarchy, which suits Alecto. Rules are for people who don't enjoy what they do.
