Ylisse is Awakening's home base — a nation that worships Naga and maintains peace through the Exalt's moral authority rather than military force. This makes it both admirable and vulnerable: when Plegia attacks, Ylisse's lack of military readiness becomes a crisis that Chrom and the Shepherds must fill. The nation's connection to Marth's bloodline (Chrom carries the Brand of the Exalt) and the Falchion makes it the franchise's most direct link between its oldest and newest stories.
Green and pastoral with white-stone cities, Naga's shrines, and a capital that radiates the benevolent warmth of a nation devoted to its divine dragon. The contrast with neighboring Plegia (dark, desert, Grima-worshipping) is deliberate.
