Sword of the Creator

Item from Fire Emblem by Intelligent Systems / Nintendo

A whip-sword forged from a goddess's spine — the most powerful weapon in Fódlan, and the most horrifying when you learn what it's made of.

The Sword of the Creator is Fódlan's most powerful Heroes' Relic, originally wielded by Nemesis and now by Byleth. It's made from the remains of Sothis — her spine, specifically — which makes it both a divine weapon and a monument to the genocide that founded Fódlan's power structure. Using it means fighting with the bones of a god. Its whip-sword form allows devastating ranged attacks, and the Crest of Flames in its hilt responds only to Byleth's bloodline. It's the franchise's most morally complicated signature weapon — beautiful, powerful, and made of something that should never have been taken.

Appearance

A segmented bone-white sword that can extend into a whip-like chain of bladed segments. The Crest Stone embedded in its hilt glows red when activated. When retracted, it looks like an ornate sword; when extended, it looks like a dragon's spine given lethal flexibility.
