Falchion

Item from Fire Emblem by Intelligent Systems / Nintendo

The divine sword of the Exalt bloodline — forged from Naga's fang, passed through Marth to Chrom to Lucina, and the one weapon that can seal the Fell Dragon permanently.

The Falchion is Fire Emblem's most iconic weapon — the divine sword that has defined the franchise since its first game. Forged from Naga's fang, it can only be fully wielded by someone of the Exalt bloodline (Marth's descendants). In its awakened form, it can seal Grima permanently. The Falchion represents the franchise's core theme: inherited responsibility. Each wielder must prove themselves worthy not through birthright but through character. Marth, Chrom, and Lucina all face moments where the sword's power isn't enough and they must find something within themselves to supplement it.

Appearance

A longsword with a blue-and-gold blade that seems to glow faintly. The design varies between games but always features the distinctive curved tip and the Brand of the Exalt on the hilt. It is beautiful in a functional way — not ornate, just perfect.

Also known as: Falchion, The Divine Sword, Parallel Falchion
