Character from Fire Emblem by Intelligent Systems / Nintendo
A Crest scholar obsessed with understanding the divine bloodlines — the Academy's most dedicated researcher, driven by the loss of his sister to a system he now studies to dismantle.
Hanneman is the Academy's Reason magic instructor and Fódlan's foremost Crest researcher. He invented the Crest-detecting device and has spent his career trying to understand how Crests function — not to empower the nobility but to find a way to make Crests available to everyone, or to make them irrelevant. His sister was taken from their family because she bore a Crest, and he never saw her again. He is the academic counterpart to Edelgard's revolutionary approach to the Crest problem — they share a goal but differ on methods. He believes knowledge will solve what war cannot.
Middle-aged and professorial with brown hair, a monocle, and the slightly disheveled appearance of someone who forgets to eat when research is going well. He wears formal teaching attire and speaks with academic precision.
Also known as: Hanneman, Professor Hanneman
