The Prydwen

Location from Fallout by Interplay / Bethesda

The Brotherhood of Steel's armored airship casting its shadow over the Commonwealth — Elder Maxson's flying fortress that announced the Brotherhood's arrival with the subtlety of a nuclear detonation.

The Prydwen vibrates with the constant thrum of its engines, a deep bass note felt in the chest. Wind howls across the flight deck, whipping Brotherhood banners horizontal. Inside, the air is warm from the reactor and smells of machine oil and the metallic tang of power armor maintenance. Maxson paces the command deck, his battlecoat billowing, delivering ideology with the conviction of a true believer. Knights snap to attention in corridors. The mess hall serves reconstituted military rations. From the observation deck, the Commonwealth stretches out below like a battlefield map — which is exactly how Maxson sees it. The ship is a statement: the Brotherhood has arrived, and they are not asking permission.

Appearance

A massive rigid airship bristling with armaments, its hull reinforced with salvaged pre-War aircraft plating. The Brotherhood's insignia is painted across the gas envelope in stark white. Vertibirds launch from a flight deck at the stern. Inside, the command deck features a panoramic observation window where Maxson delivers speeches. Below decks: power armor bays with racks of T-60 suits, a mess hall, barracks, a medical bay, and Proctor stations for each order. The engineering section houses the nuclear reactor that keeps the ship aloft. It hovers over Boston Airport, tethered by supply lines to the ground camp below.
