The East Coast Brotherhood of Steel's fortress built in the Pentagon's ruins — where Elder Lyons chose to protect the people instead of hoarding technology, and where Liberty Prime stood waiting for activation.
The clang of power armor and the bark of drill instructors fill the courtyard during training hours. Inside, the hum of advanced technology contrasts with the crumbling concrete — cutting-edge equipment installed in pre-War ruins. The armory smells of gun oil and ozone from energy weapon charging stations. Scribes hunch over recovered technical documents in the archives, cataloging pre-War knowledge. The atmosphere is military-disciplined but, under Lyons, carried an unusual compassion — this Brotherhood chapter protects wastelanders, not just technology. Maxson's leadership later shifted the balance back toward orthodoxy.
The shattered but reinforced remains of the Pentagon, its five-sided structure partially collapsed but rebuilt with steel buttressing and Brotherhood engineering. Power armor racks line the outer courtyard where initiates train. The inner rings contain laboratories, armories, barracks, and the command center. Liberty Prime — a towering pre-War robot — stands dormant in a dedicated bay. Brotherhood banners displaying the winged sword and gears hang from every intact wall. Vertibirds sit on improvised landing pads on the roof sections. Searchlights sweep the Potomac at night.
