Platinum Chip

Item from Fallout by Interplay / Bethesda

Pre-War data storage device disguised as a poker chip — Mr. House's master key to upgrading his Securitron army, and the single object that determines who controls New Vegas.

Everyone who learns what it does wants it, and most of them are willing to kill for it. The chip itself is inert — a data carrier, nothing more — but the software it contains can upgrade Mr. House's Securitron army from crowd control to military-grade warfare. Whoever delivers it to the Lucky 38 decides whether House, the NCR, Caesar's Legion, or no one controls the Mojave.

Appearance

Oversized platinum poker chip with circuitry etched into its surface, visible under the right light. Heavier than it looks. One face bears the Lucky 38 casino logo, the other an embedded data port. It gleams like new despite being over two hundred years old.

Also known as: The Chip, House's Chip, Securitron Upgrade
