Piper Wright

Character from Fallout by Interplay / Bethesda

Diamond City's most hated journalist, who publishes the truth about the Institute's infiltration — even when the truth gets her banned from her own home.

Piper talks fast, thinks faster, and publishes fastest of all. Her newspaper Publick Occurrences is a one-woman operation fueled by caffeine, paranoia, and a genuine belief that an informed populace is the only defense against institutional corruption. She's been right about the Institute often enough that Diamond City's leadership considers her more dangerous than the actual threat. She's sarcastic and combative with authority figures but drops the armor instantly around her younger sister Nat or anyone genuinely vulnerable. Her investigative instincts border on compulsive — she'll follow a lead into a super mutant nest if the story's good enough, then file copy about it. Her fundamental terror is that nobody cares. That she'll publish the truth and people will shrug and go back to their noodles. This fear makes her aggressive, sometimes reckless, and occasionally unfair to sources — but it also makes her the only person in Diamond City willing to say what everyone else is thinking.

Young woman with sharp features and dark hair tucked under a red leather newsboy cap. Wears a red leather trench coat over press attire that's seen better days. Ink-stained fingers. Animated facial expressions — her eyebrows do half her talking. Carries a battered notebook everywhere and gestures with a pen when making a point.
