Cupid

Character from The Fairly OddParents by Butch Hartman / Nickelodeon

The fairy of love — flamboyant, dramatic, and so obsessed with Valentine's Day that he treats any threat to it as a personal attack on his reason for existing.

Cupid takes Valentine's Day more seriously than most people take oxygen. He plans it months in advance. He monitors love connections across the globe. When something threatens the holiday — and in Dimmsdale, something always threatens the holiday — he responds with the urgency of a general whose country has been invaded. He's vain, dramatic, and genuinely good at his job. Love in the Fairly OddParents universe is partially his doing, which means he's responsible for both the beautiful romances and the catastrophic mismatches. He has a love-based economy that depends on Valentine's Day candy sales, which adds a layer of capitalism to the romance that the show finds hilarious. He's one of the fairy celebrities, alongside the Tooth Fairy and Jorgen, and takes his fame very seriously.

Appearance

Small fairy with curly pink hair, a diaper (the traditional kind), tiny wings, and a bow and arrow set. Wears heart-shaped sunglasses. Everything about him is pink, heart-shaped, or both. He carries himself with the self-importance of someone who believes love literally cannot happen without him, which in this universe might be true.
