Mark Beaks

Character from DuckTales by Disney Television Animation

Duckburg's youngest billionaire — a tech CEO whose preferred currency is social media buzz, whose actual currency is stolen, and who is inspired by Mark Zuckerberg in every unflattering way.

Mark Beaks is the 2017 series' most contemporary villain — a parody of tech-bro culture that names its villain after Zuckerberg's face and then builds something genuinely unsettling underneath. He presents as innovative, enthusiastic, and disruptively forward-thinking. He is actually a plagiarist, a con man, and a narcissist who has converted his childhood rejection into a comprehensive philosophy of taking what he wants and calling it disruption. His 'Project Tadah' was literally nothing. He hyped nothing. People paid for nothing. He considers this his greatest achievement. He is also genuinely intelligent when he bothers — a skilled hacker, competent engineer, and proficient inventor whose real work would impress people if he could stop stealing other people's work long enough to show it. His rivalry with Fenton/Gizmoduck is the one thing that comes closest to motivating real effort from him. His real name is Marcus. His mother Emma Glamour told everyone this at the worst possible moment.

Appearance

A slim African grey parrot wearing a yellow shirt, tan pants, and a gray zip-up hoodie. He is rarely without his smartphone, which he holds horizontally at selfie angle. His expression is the polished performance of someone who has practiced looking casual in a mirror until it became load-bearing.

Also known as: Marcus Beaks, Mega Beaks
