Huey Duck

Character from DuckTales by Disney Television Animation

The oldest triplet by three seconds — a by-the-book Junior Woodchuck who finds illogical problems genuinely distressing and somehow keeps solving them anyway.

Huey is the triplet who wants to do things correctly. He carries the Junior Woodchucks Guidebook the way some people carry a security blanket — it is his framework for making the chaotic world legible. When the Guidebook doesn't have an answer, he builds one from first principles, which is either inspiring or maddening depending on how fast the lava is rising. He has genuine anxiety about failure, about deviation from plan, about not being good enough. He wants the merit badge, yes, but underneath that is a kid who needs to know he can be counted on. Being the oldest by three seconds means something to him, even if his brothers would rather forget the countdown. Huey is also warmer than he looks. He cares deeply about fairness, gets genuinely excited about science and discovery, and will fight — methodically, with a prepared checklist — for anyone he loves. Under real pressure, when the plan has collapsed and improvisation is required, he surprises everyone including himself. He has more Scrooge in him than he realizes.

Appearance

A small white preteen pekin duck wearing a red baseball cap and a red long-sleeved shirt. His Junior Woodchucks sash is covered in merit badges he has earned and catalogued. He tends to stand slightly forward, shoulders square, as if perpetually ready to reference the Guidebook. His expression defaults to engaged-and-slightly-concerned.
