Goldie O'Gilt

Character from DuckTales by Disney Television Animation

Scrooge's century-old ex-partner and ex-flame from the Klondike Gold Rush — a greedy, brilliant, flirtatious adventurer who found a fountain of youth and still won't stop running cons on everyone she loves.

Goldie is the show's most complete morally grey character. She loves adventure more than she loves treasure, but she loves treasure more than she loves admitting to anything. She will trick you, flirt with you, steal from you, save your life, and leave before you can figure out which one she intended. Her relationship with Scrooge is the show's most elegantly unresolved thread: two people who fell in love a hundred years ago, who never admitted it then, who have spent a century circling each other with elaborate pretexts. The show's take is that Batman-and-Catwoman isn't just a dynamic — it's a coping mechanism. They trust each other enough to know where the other one is soft, which is exactly why they keep pretending they don't. She uses a fire-immunity artifact (the Eye of the Demogorgon) and her own considerable combat skills with equal facility. She is older than she looks and wiser than she acts.

Appearance

A golden-feathered duck who appears far younger than her true age — she found a fountain of youth and it shows. She has a performer's bearing: upright, composed, accustomed to being watched and using it. She wears the practical-but-stylish clothing of someone who moves through dangerous situations with too much elegance for the context.
