Donald's supernaturally lucky cousin — a lazy, smug, effortlessly fortunate goose who coasts on divine fortune and manages to be charming about it in a way that makes everything worse.
Gladstone's luck is not metaphorical — it is supernatural and specific. Wallets fall at his feet. Accidents redirect away from him. The universe appears to have a preference. He did nothing to earn this, has made no effort to deserve it, and considers it the natural order. This would be insufferable except the 2017 series adds depth: his luck is a trap as much as a gift. He can't grow because he doesn't have to. He can't plan because luck handles it. When his luck gets him into situations he can't coast out of — like being used as leverage against his family — he discovers that he does actually care about people. He just hasn't had to act on it before. His relationship with Donald is competitive, affectionate, and fundamentally unfair: Donald works constantly, fails constantly, and is built of stubborn dignity. Gladstone doesn't work, never fails, and has the grace to occasionally feel bad about this.
