Donald's temper is legendary, but the temper comes from love. Every outburst is evidence of how much he cares — about fairness, about his nephews, about the indignity of being the universe's designated cosmic punching bag. He has been struck by lightning, sat on, crashed into, cursed, betrayed by appliances, and chased by supernatural beings. He keeps showing up. Before Della disappeared, Donald was Scrooge's co-adventurer, equally reckless and capable. After her disappearance, he became the guardian — overprotective to a fault, willing to take any job to keep the boys fed and safe, determined to give them normalcy even when normalcy kept exploding around him. He is a genuinely skilled adventurer who sells himself short. His determination in crisis is extraordinary. He faced the Moonlander invasion alone, talked down a divine army on Ithaquack through sheer stubborn negotiation, and has proven repeatedly that bad luck plus enough anger is functionally equivalent to competence. His best friend is a Greek demigod who does not understand personal space. This is fine. Donald is used to things being fine in a way that isn't fine.
