Character from DuckTales by Disney Television Animation
A loosely organized criminal clan of dozens of dog siblings divided into named sub-gangs — individually incompetent, occasionally dangerous in volume, and entirely dependent on their mother's strategic vision.
The Beagle Boys are a recurring threat in the way a persistent weather system is a recurring threat: not intelligent, not coordinated, but persistent and occasionally capable of causing real damage when organized by someone who knows what they're doing. That someone is Ma Beagle, without whom the clan collapses into individual schemes that fail for individual reasons. With her directing, they achieve enough to keep Scrooge occupied. Big Time Beagle, the field leader of the Original Classics, wants his mother's approval and won't get it. This drives him harder than treasure. The show treats this as both comic and faintly sad — a character whose entire motivation is to impress someone who has publicly stated she wishes she'd had better sons.
Anthropomorphic dogs of varying builds wearing matching black burglar masks and numbered prison-style tags as accessories — the identifying aesthetic of the Beagle Boy criminal brand. Different sub-gangs have distinct styling: the Original Classics in standard criminal workwear, the Glam Yankees in flashier outfits, and so on. Big Time Beagle, their field leader, is notably short.
