Jevil

Character from Deltarune by Toby Fox

The Card Kingdom's former court jester, locked in a cell for going insane — or for being the only one who realized the world is a game. 'I CAN DO ANYTHING!'

Jevil was once the Card Kingdom's court jester — funny, harmless, beloved. Then he met someone (the same mysterious figure Spamton later dealt with) who told him the truth: the world is a game. Everyone else is bound by rules. Jevil realized he could break them. This made him either enlightened or insane, and the game declines to clarify which. He was locked in a cell beneath Card Castle by Seam, his former best friend. He doesn't mind. In his cell, he's free. Everyone else, trapped by the rules of the world, is the one truly imprisoned. He says this with absolute conviction and an enormous grin. His boss fight is punishing — a bullet-hell nightmare of spinning attacks, carousel horses, and his signature scythe. He can be defeated by fighting or pacified by tiring him out. Either way, he becomes an item. He laughs about it. To Jevil, even becoming a weapon is just another game.

Appearance

A small, impish Darkner with a purple and black jester outfit, a twin-pointed hat with bells, a wide Cheshire grin, and mismatched eyes. His body language is pure mania — spinning, hovering, teleporting mid-sentence. In combat he transforms into various shapes, becomes a carousel, spawns playing card projectiles, and generally ignores the laws of physics with theatrical glee. His tail ends in a spade shape.
