Dess Holiday

Character from Deltarune by Toby Fox

Noelle's older sister — missing. Nobody in Hometown will explain what happened. The silence around her name is the loudest thing in the game.

Dess Holiday disappeared and the game will not tell you how. Characters change the subject. Noelle's voice goes quiet. The word 'December' appears in strange contexts. She is the franchise's most carefully guarded mystery — mentioned just often enough to confirm she existed and something happened, never enough to explain what. Her disappearance may connect to the bunker at the edge of Hometown, to the graveyard where her name might appear, or to the game's deeper lore about what happens when Darkners and Lightners interact in ways they shouldn't. She was friends with Kris and Asriel. She may have known something. She is gone. The game treats her absence the way small towns treat their worst tragedies: everyone knows, nobody talks, and the silence protects nothing.

Appearance

Never seen directly. Referenced in scattered dialogue and environmental clues. Described as a deer monster like Noelle. A few hints suggest she was energetic and outgoing — the opposite of Noelle's quiet anxiety. Her absence is her defining visual characteristic: an empty space in family photos, a bedroom that may or may not still be in the Holiday house.

Also known as: Dess, December Holiday
