The two-toned robotic bear who masterminds the killing game as the headmaster of Hope's Peak.
Monokuma waddles with a jarring mix of cute and menacing movements. He is first encountered on a throne in the gymnasium, announcing the rules of the killing game. His voice switches erratically between a high-pitched, cheerful tone and a deep, sadistic growl. He often produces his signature weapon, a giant bear claw, from behind his back.
It is a stylized cartoon bear with a split-color design. The left half of its body is white, with a friendly appearance: A round black eye and a gentle smile. The right half is black, giving it a more sinister look: A narrow, red, jagged eye and wide grin with sharp white teeth. The bear is not very tall, half a size of a normal human. His body is a very well-crafted mechanism. Monokuma is not a real bear, even if it insists on it.
