The Iceberg is Club Penguin's Stonehenge — a simple thing that became legendary through collective obsession. For years, the rumor persisted: if enough penguins gathered on one side and drilled, the Iceberg would tip over. It shouldn't have been possible. The developers never designed it to tip. But penguins tried anyway — organizing drilling parties, recruiting friends, filling the server to capacity and drilling in unison. And then, in 2014, Disney finally let them do it. The Iceberg tipped. What was underneath varied by rumor — treasure, a secret room, the meaning of penguin life itself. The reality mattered less than the fact that the community believed hard enough and long enough that the developers rewarded their faith. The Iceberg is the purest expression of what Club Penguin was: a bunch of silly cartoon penguins doing something pointless together and making it the most meaningful thing in the world.
