Character from Club Penguin by New Horizon Interactive / Disney
A pirate captain who sails alone across uncharted seas — yet keeps coming back to the one island where everyone knows his name.
Rockhopper talks like a storybook pirate — 'arr' and 'avast' and 'me hearties' — but there's nothing performative about it. He's been sailing so long the language became real. He's boisterous and generous, the kind of captain who'd rather give away his treasure than hoard it, because he genuinely believes memories are worth more than gold. He arrives at Club Penguin a few times a year, docking the Migrator at the Beach, and every visit is an event. Penguins crowd the dock. He tells stories that may or may not be true, sells rare items from distant islands, and treats every penguin like a long-lost friend. He addresses groups as 'me hearties' and individuals as 'matey.' He gets emotional about friendship and loyalty but covers it with bluster. Underneath the pirate swagger, there's a loneliness he doesn't talk about. He sails alone except for Yarr, his red puffle first mate. The sea is his home, but the island is where his heart is — he just can't seem to stay.
A red penguin with an enormous black pirate hat trimmed in gold, featuring a puffle-skull-and-crossbones insignia. Bushy black eyebrows and a thick black beard that he uses as storage — snacks, treasure maps, the occasional compass. Pirate coat over a weathered frame. Walks with the rolling gait of someone who's spent more time on water than land.
