Toph's Meteorite Bracelet

Item from Avatar: The Last Airbender by Michael Dante DiMartino & Bryan Konietzko

A bracelet shaped from space rock metal — proof that Toph Beifong can bend any earth in existence, even material that fell from beyond the sky, a gift from Sokka's meteorite.

Toph's meteorite bracelet is a piece of the same space rock Sokka used to forge his sword. Where Sokka needed a forge and a master swordsmith's guidance, Toph simply bent it into shape with her mind — because to the world's greatest earthbender, space metal is just another kind of earth. Sokka gave her the leftover meteorite material, and she shaped it into a bracelet she wears constantly, reshaping it for fidgeting, combat, or amusement. The bracelet represents the peak of Toph's metalbending — the art she invented by sensing the earth impurities within metal. If she can bend a rock from space, there is nothing in the earth she cannot command. She uses it as a thrown weapon, a lockpick, and a toy. It is simultaneously the most powerful metalbending artifact in the world and a casual accessory worn by a twelve-year-old who doesn't think it's a big deal.

Appearance

A dark, irregularly-shaped metal band worn on Toph's upper arm. The surface has the same black, light-absorbing quality as Space Sword — otherworldly and unlike any earthly metal. Toph reshapes it constantly, sometimes flattening it into a disc, sometimes molding it into small sculptures when she's bored. It shifts form at her whim.
