Item from Avatar: The Last Airbender by Michael Dante DiMartino & Bryan Konietzko
A traditional Air Nomad wooden staff that unfolds into a hang glider — Aang's primary tool for flight, combat, and bending focus, and one of the last surviving artifacts of his people.
Aang's glider is as much a part of him as his tattoos. Every Air Nomad had one — a staff that doubles as a hang glider, allowing solo flight by riding air currents enhanced with airbending. For Aang, it's his primary mode of transportation when Appa isn't available, a weapon in combat (channeling air blasts through its length), and one of the last physical connections to his extinct culture. The glider was damaged and replaced once during the series. In combat, Aang uses it to amplify airbending techniques — sweeping air slashes, creating vortexes, and launching himself skyward. It represents the Air Nomad philosophy: light, mobile, free. When Aang plants it in the ground, he's making a stand. When he flies, he's the last airbender doing what his people were born to do.
A tall wooden staff in its collapsed form, light enough for a child to carry. When deployed, orange and yellow fabric wings unfold from the shaft, creating a triangular hang glider. The wood is pale and smooth, with subtle Air Nomad engravings near the grip. In flight, Aang hangs from the crossbar with the wings catching updrafts.
