Jinora

Character from Avatar: The Last Airbender by Michael Dante DiMartino & Bryan Konietzko

Tenzin's eldest daughter and the youngest airbending master in history — a bookish, spiritually gifted girl whose quiet courage outstrips warriors twice her age.

Jinora speaks with quiet thoughtfulness beyond her years — she prefers books to roughhousing and can meditate into the Spirit World with ease that took her father decades to approach. She has a natural connection to spirits that neither Tenzin nor Korra can match. Despite her gentle demeanor, she is fiercely brave — she guided Korra in the Spirit World, helped locate the airbenders captured by the Earth Queen, and played a pivotal role in defeating Zaheer. Her tattoo ceremony is one of the most emotionally resonant moments in the series.

Appearance

Young girl with large brown eyes and an intelligent, gentle face. Initially has brown hair in buns; after earning her tattoos, her head is shaved to reveal blue arrow markings like her father and grandfather. Wears red and yellow Air Nomad robes. Small and slight but carries herself with surprising composure.

Also known as: Jinora, Master Jinora
