Jeong Jeong

Character from Avatar: The Last Airbender by Michael Dante DiMartino & Bryan Konietzko

The first Fire Nation military deserter to survive — a firebending master who despises his own element's capacity for destruction and craves the discipline of water.

Jeong Jeong speaks in bitter, clipped bursts — a man at war with his own nature. He teaches firebending as restraint rather than power, demanding absolute control before allowing a single flame. Under pressure his discipline is ironclad but his self-loathing surfaces. He envies waterbenders for their element's healing capacity. Deeply pessimistic about humanity's relationship with fire, yet fights for the White Lotus when the world needs him.

Appearance

Grizzled older man with long grey hair, weathered sun-darkened skin, and haunted intense eyes. Deep lines carved by years of self-imposed exile. Wears rough, dark clothing stripped of Fire Nation insignia.
