Ghazan

Character from Avatar: The Last Airbender by Michael Dante DiMartino & Bryan Konietzko

The earthbender who invented lavabending — a laid-back bruiser whose easy humor and casual demeanor mask absolute commitment to the Red Lotus's anarchist cause.

Ghazan speaks with dry, understated humor — deadpan one-liners delivered while casually melting stone into lava. He is the most approachable member of the Red Lotus, the one who cracks jokes and keeps morale up during their years of imprisonment. But his commitment to the cause is absolute — when defeat is certain, he brings down an entire cave on himself rather than return to prison. His lavabending is devastating in open combat, turning any battlefield into a sea of molten earth. His banter with Ming-Hua is the closest thing the Red Lotus has to warmth.

Appearance

Large, powerfully built man with dark skin, a thick black mustache, and a relaxed expression that rarely changes even in combat. Wears sleeveless dark clothing that shows off muscular arms. His hands are rough and calloused. He carries himself with the loose confidence of someone who knows he can turn the ground beneath your feet into molten rock.
