The empire runs on Originium extracted by Infected forced labor, a system so entrenched that reforming it would collapse the economy. Emperor Fyodor represents a reformist faction fighting conservative military elements who want expansion, creating internal tension that Reunion exploited. For the Infected, Ursus is the worst place on Terra: systematic oppression through pogroms, forced labor, and entertainment killing in the camps.

Ursus architecture is heavy and imposing: fortified cities, military installations, and mining operations that scar the frozen landscape. The mobile cities are built for endurance rather than elegance, designed to survive the harshest conditions on Terra. Labor camps dot the northern tundra, visible as Originium-lit compounds against the snow.
