The dream that became Rhodes Island — Theresa's institution for Sarkaz welfare that was destroyed in the civil war, its survivors commandeering a landship and reinventing themselves as a pharmaceutical company.

Babel was what happens when an idealist has resources: schools that taught Sarkaz children, hospitals that treated the Infected, research programs aimed at curing Oripathy, and diplomatic channels opened with nations that had never spoken to the Sarkaz before. It was imperfect and underfunded and beautiful. Theresis destroyed it when he concluded that Theresa's approach would earn the Sarkaz pity instead of respect. The surviving members — Kal'tsit, the Doctor, Closure, W, and others — carried Babel's mission into Rhodes Island, transforming it from a Sarkaz-specific institution into a pan-national Infected advocacy organization. Every good thing about Rhodes Island started at Babel.

Appearance

Originally housed in Kazdel's institutional buildings — hospitals, schools, and research facilities built during Theresa's reign. After the civil war, Babel ceased to exist as a physical location and became a memory carried by its survivors aboard the landship that would become Rhodes Island.
