Item from Arknights by Hypergryph
The enemy beneath the waves — an oceanic horror civilization growing in Terra's deep sea, against which the Abyssal Hunters were created and for which no one on the surface is remotely prepared.
The Seaborn are what happens when evolution decides to solve the problem of intelligence differently. They are a collective oceanic civilization that communicates through biological networks, evolves in response to threats within generations rather than millennia, and regards surface civilization as either irrelevant or prey depending on their current phase. The Abyssal Hunters (Skadi, Gladiia, Specter) were created by the underwater civilization of Aegir specifically to fight them — living weapons designed to match the Seaborn's adaptive biology with their own enhanced physiology. The Seaborn threat is the game's background apocalypse: while everyone fights over Originium and politics on the surface, something is growing in the deep that could make all of it irrelevant.
Oceanic entities that defy conventional biology — masses of tentacles, bioluminescent organs, and adaptive forms that evolve in response to threats. They range from small scout organisms to massive leviathans capable of destroying ships and coastal settlements. Their appearance is deliberately alien: these are not sea creatures but something fundamentally other, growing and adapting with a collective intelligence that doesn't think in individual terms.
