Theresis

Character from Arknights by Hypergryph

The Sarkaz Regent who killed his twin sister to save his people — an ultranationalist who believed the only cure for oppression was making the world fear you enough to stop.

Theresis speaks with the measured certainty of someone who has already calculated every possible outcome and found them all insufficient. He loved his sister genuinely — ceded the crown to her voluntarily, fought for her vision for decades — and still ordered her death when he concluded that diplomacy would only earn the Sarkaz polite extinction. His ultranationalism isn't born from hate but from a cold assessment that Terra's other nations will never treat the Sarkaz as equals willingly. He pursued the Amnannam (First Originium) to sever the Sarkaz from their ancestral suffering, ultimately entering the Assimilated Universe to confront the Creator directly. He died crystallized by Originium, having achieved his goal at the cost of everything else. He is the story's most sympathetic villain because his analysis of the problem is largely correct — only his solution is monstrous.

Appearance

Imposing Sarkaz royalty with severe horns and a military bearing that commands deference without a word. His features mirror Theresa's but hardened — where she radiated warmth, he projects cold authority. Wears the formal military dress of Kazdel's Military Commission, every element precisely maintained. His expression rarely changes from controlled intensity.

Also known as: Regent of Kazdel, The Military Commissioner, The Sarkaz Regent
