The Placidium was built where Ionia's magical ley lines converge most powerfully, making it a place where the boundary between physical and spiritual is gossamer-thin. For centuries it served as a center of learning, diplomacy, and spiritual communion — monks and scholars gathered here to study the balance of all things. Then Noxus brought war to its gates. The Battle of the Placidium became a turning point — Irelia led a desperate defense that broke the Noxian advance, but the cost was devastating. The scars of that battle have healed on the surface, cherry blossoms grow over mass graves, and the meditation halls echo again with prayer. But the Placidium's innocence died with its defenders, and its new serenity carries an undertone of mourning.
