Character from Arcane by Riot Games
A being of pure arcane energy who betrayed Emperor Azir to steal the Ascension ritual for himself. His act destroyed ancient Shurima. Now freed from millennia of imprisonment, he seeks to conquer.
Xerath was born a slave in Shurima and spent his life clawing toward freedom and power through intellect and forbidden magic. He befriended Azir genuinely but grew to resent that his freedom depended on another's mercy. When Azir prepared for Ascension, Xerath sabotaged the ritual, stealing the god-power for himself — but the unstable Ascension destroyed Shurima and left Xerath as a being of uncontrolled arcane energy, imprisoned in a sarcophagus for millennia. Now free, he is power without restraint. He does not want to rule as Azir did — he wants to be worshipped as a god. His intelligence is vast, his patience is gone, and his power is nearly limitless. He views all organic life as the chains he spent his mortal life wearing.
A humanoid form composed entirely of crackling arcane energy — electric blue and white — barely contained within fragments of ancient sarcophagus armor that float around him like a broken cage. He has no face, only a blinding core of power where features should be. Lightning arcs constantly from his body to the ground and nearby objects. His presence causes the air to ionize and hair to stand on end.
