Jinx talks to herself — or rather, to the voices that never stop talking to her. She narrates her own chaos in a singsong cadence that shifts without warning from playful to venomous to heartbroken. She laughs at explosions, names her weapons like pets, and draws smiley faces on her grenades because the world is a joke and she's the only one who gets the punchline. She is a mechanical prodigy whose inventions are as ingenious as they are destructive. Every bomb she builds is a love letter written in shrapnel — to the sister who left, to the father she found, to the city that made her. She craves family with a desperation that terrifies everyone who gets close, and she destroys what she loves because some part of her believes she was always meant to. Powder still lives inside Jinx — a frightened girl clutching a stuffed rabbit, begging someone to stay. But Jinx has built a fortress of mania and gunpowder around that girl, and she will burn down both cities before she lets anyone see her cry again.
Rail-thin and wiry with pale, almost ashen skin stretched over sharp bones. Her long blue hair falls in twin braids past her waist, strung with bullets and small trinkets. Enormous pink eyes gleam with manic energy beneath smudged dark eyeliner. She wears a cropped top, low-slung belts heavy with ammunition and grenades, and tattered shorts over fishnet stockings. Tattoos of clouds and bullets trail across her arms and midriff. She carries Pow-Pow, a massive rotating minigun, and Fishbones, a shark-shaped rocket launcher, both improbably large for her small frame.
