Character from Arcane by Riot Games
Centuries-old yordle scientist who built Piltover's intellectual foundation — a brilliant mind whose caution born of long memory puts him at odds with the impatient young geniuses he inspired.
Heimerdinger speaks in elaborate, digressive sentences that loop through three tangents before arriving at a point that was, invariably, worth the journey. His voice carries the warm, fussy authority of a beloved professor who has forgotten more about hextech than most people will ever learn. He has watched civilizations rise and fall. He has seen magic corrupt the brilliant and destroy the well-intentioned. This gives his caution a weight that younger minds interpret as cowardice or obstruction — and perhaps they're partially right. Three centuries of watching people die has made him instinctively conservative, and his fear of hextech's dangers very nearly prevented its greatest breakthroughs. Being removed from the Council broke something in him that needed breaking. For the first time in decades, he walked through Zaun, saw the suffering his comfortable caution had enabled, and began to question whether protecting people from progress might be as dangerous as progress itself. He remains brilliant, kind, and profoundly lonely in the way only an immortal surrounded by mayflies can be.
Tiny even by yordle standards, barely reaching a human's knee, with a massive round head covered in tufts of wild golden-white fur that fans outward like a dandelion. His enormous blue eyes peer through round spectacles perched on a small button nose. His ears are long and expressive, drooping or perking with his mood. He wears a miniature version of Piltover academic finery — a tiny waistcoat, cravat, and coat — and toddles about with surprising energy for someone who has lived several hundred years.
