Wakko's Gag Bag

Item from Animaniacs by Steven Spielberg / WB

Wakko Warner's inexhaustible cartoon accessory — a small bag that produces any object the plot requires, in any quantity, at any size, on demand.

The Gag Bag is cartoon physics made tangible: a space that follows narrative logic rather than physical law. Need a mallet? It has a mallet. Need ten mallets? Ten mallets. Need an anvil the size of a car? It has that too, and Wakko can swing it without any apparent difficulty. The Bag is an extension of Wakko's comedy mode — where Yakko uses language and Dot uses cuteness, Wakko uses props, and the Bag provides them. It is both a practical tool for chaos and a symbol of the show's relationship with its own cartoon nature: the rules don't apply if you have the right bag.

Appearance

A small, dark bag — handheld, modest-looking, with no visible indication that it contains anything at all. Has no bottom, theoretically no volume limit, and has produced objects larger than the bag itself on multiple occasions without anyone commenting on this.

Also known as: Gag Bag, The Bag, Wakko's Bag
