Character from Animaniacs by Steven Spielberg / WB
The purple female half of the Hip Hippos — equally wealthy, equally oblivious, and complementary to Flavio in their shared commitment to not noticing anything dangerous.
Marita and Flavio exist in a shared bubble of affluence and mutual admiration. She is his match in obliviousness and his equal in social self-regard. Where Flavio tends toward pronouncements, Marita tends toward commentary — on appearance, on style, on the aesthetic failings of whatever wilderness they've wandered into. She is voiced with a singing voice, which suggests there's a musicality to her that the standard segments don't always bring out. As a duo with Flavio, they represent a very specific comic tradition: the wealthy person whose money has genuinely made them unable to perceive ordinary reality.
A large purple anthropomorphic hippopotamus. Wears lipstick, earrings, and a red hair bow. Styled with the same emphasis on fashion and appearance as Flavio. Has blue eyes. Carries herself with the poise of someone who has never personally experienced the concept of inconvenience.
