Hollywood's premier studio psychiatrist — or he was, before the Warners arrived and systematically dismantled both his sanity and his hair.
Scratchansniff was the greatest psychiatrist in Hollywood before three cartoon siblings made him their personal project. Now he is a man who has been driven to the edge of a breakdown so many times that the edge has worn a groove. He is not exactly the Warners' enemy — some episodes portray him as a genuine surrogate father, making them food and taking them to the circus — but he insists, loudly, that he is nothing more than their court-appointed therapist. His attempts to psychoanalyze the Warners have a 100% failure rate. They turn every session into a comedic siege. He uses German exclamations under pressure ('Ja,' 'Nein') and has somehow maintained his professional dignity through experiences that would institutionalize a lesser man. He is, in a quiet way, the emotional center of the Warners' world: the adult who actually shows up.
Bald — he had gray hair once, before the Warners drove him to rip it out, and it never grew back. Wears a white lab coat, purple pants, black shoes, and thick glasses. Has a long nose, and his eyes are blue (Dot confirmed this in 'The Monkey Song'). Speaks with a thick Austrian-German accent that becomes more pronounced under stress, which is constant.
